Notes |
- Thomas and his two brothers were taken by their grandparents to Tasmania when their mother died in 1829. They lived at Freshwater Point. Following the death of Eleanor in 1831 they were in the care of Robert Eather, who was in Tasmania and later back at Richmond. Thomas II married one of the Eather girls, Elizabeth and he was later to run the Richmond farm. He then became a publican and purchased a hotel in Sydney, the "Richmond Inn". On the 3rd October 1856, aged 36 years he died of "intemperance". His widow then returned to Richmond where she took the license of the "Woodpack" Hotel at North Richmond. The "Woodpack" building at North Richmond was the one painted by Arthur Streetson in 1896 and the painting was called "The Old Inn on the Hawkesbury"
