• Notes

  Wes and Nell Tiller went to Karkoo on the West Coast in the mid 1920s and farmed there until 1938. The salt lake on this land is still known as Tiller's Lake. Wes lost this farm during depression years because of a debt to stock agents of 140 pound. Farmers having larger debts were left on the land to work it through but smaller debts were easy to recoup by selling the properties. Wes served in both World War I and II and in the early 50s took up soldier settlement land at Greenways in the South East. Wes and Nell are buried in the Lucindale Cemetery.
