James Patrick Ramsay Jr, is the first child James patrick Ramsay and the fourth child of Eva May Butcher. He was born in 1929.
He married Esther Barnett on the 15th November 1952. The settled in Padstow and then Illawong. They had three children Dianne, Bruce and James.

James William Edward McCauley was the son of Thomas McCauley and Louise Matthews. He was born 26 November 1893 at St Peters, New South Wales.
James' was a Blacksmith/farrier by occupation and worked five years for Matthew & Dalton New South Wales. He was 5 feet 7inches tall, medium complexion and had blue eyes.
The first world war had only just began when Minnie and James were married
By 1916 the Australian troops sustained heavy losses in the battle of the Somme in France. The allied military leadership requested reinforcements 80,000 men in four months.
It was at this time on 17th january 1916 James McCauley aged 23 yrs 3 months enlisted in the AIF in Enmore New South Wales for active service abroad.
After a very short training period he left for service in Europe on 13th May 1916 aboard H.M.A.T. Beltana from Sydney with the 34th/36th Infantry Battalion. James Daughter Beryl was born Premature on the 14th February 1916, he never returned to see her before he died.
The "Beltana"arrived at Plymouth on the 9th July 1916 and proceeded to France in November 1916. James was a driver and served in Belgium and France. | McCauley, James William Edward (I6253)

James William Thomas McCauley is the first child of Wilhelmina (Minnie) Augusta Bottcher and James William Edward McCauley. He was born on 3rd March 1915 at Glebe, New South Wales, Australia.
In 1934 at the age of 19yrs he married Amy Dorothy Goode at Kogarah, New South Wales. Dorothy and James had two children Lorraine born in 1935 and Edward born in 1938.
James enlisted in the Australian Military Forces on 9th October 1939 at Arncliffe, New South Wales. He was posted to 2/3rd Bn and was initially posted to Liverpool and then Ingleburn for his basic training.
The 2/3rd Battalion was raised at Victoria Barracks, Sydney on 24 October 1939 as part of the 16th Brigade of the 6th Australian Division. It relocated to the newly-opened Ingleburn Camp on 2 November where it conducted its basic training. On 10 January 1940, it sailed from Sydney and disembarked in Egypt on 14 February.
After further training in Palestine and Egypt, the 2/3rd took part in its first campaign - the advance against the Italians in eastern Libya - in January 1941. It was involved in the successful attacks at Bardia (3-5 January) and Tobruk (21-22 January), and remained as part of the Tobruk garrison when the advance continued. One company of the 2/3rd was also employed to garrison Derna after its capture by the 19th Brigade on 30 January. The 2/3rd left Tobruk on 7 March, ultimately bound, with the rest of the 6th Division, for Greece.
Arriving in Greece on 19 March, the 2/3rd was soon deployed north to resist the anticipated German invasion. It occupied positions at Veria on 7 April, but a succession of withdrawals by the Allies in Greece meant that the battalion did not meet the enemy in battle until 18 April - at Tempe (Pinios) Gorge. There, the 2/3rd supported the 2/2nd Battalion and blocked German movement through the gorge, allowing the unhindered withdrawal of Allied forces further south. The 2/3rd itself was forced to withdraw again by nightfall. Its activities in Greece ended with evacuation by sea from Kalamata on 27 April. The bulk of the battalion returned to Palestine, via Egypt, but one group of 141 troops subsequently fought with the 16th Brigade Composite Battalion on Crete, after the transport carrying them away from Greece was sunk.
On 19 April 1941 at Larissa, Greece James was captured by the Germans.

Events immediately prior to and leading up to capture:
HQ Coy, D Coy and possible B Coy of 2/3/ Inf Bn were ordered to fight rear guard action. During heavy bombing Pt M Butt and I were separated from the rest of the crowd. After more bombing we made our way and fell in with a New Zealand convoy, but owing to heavy strafing we all scattered for cover. Later on I found myself alone and surrounded and after firing all my ammunition, surrendered after burying my rifle bolt and mille bomb.
James became P.O.W. No. 8185 and was taken to Greek Barracks Larissa and stayed there for about 3 weeks. he was transferred to Salonika, working as Medical orderly in Hospital for 5 months. He was transferred to Stalag VIIIB in October 1941 and remained there until May 1944. Stalag VIIIB was later renamed Stalag344. On 24 May 1944 James was named in a Proposed German P.O.W. Exchange, destination North Africa via Barcelona. He arrived in Alexandria on 3rd June 1944. He then sailed for Australia aboard the Hospital Ship Wanganella arriving in Sydney on 29th September 1944. James was discharged Medically Unfit on 3rd April 1945.
On 21st September 1971 at St James Railway Station, Sydney, James suffered a heart attack and died. His official cause of death was of Myocardial Infarction. He was 56 years old and working as a Library Attendant at the time of his death. | McCauley, James William Thomas (I6254)

James worked as a drover. When his wife died he could not leave the children alone as he was away so much, Aunt Ada Tiller came and stayed to make arrangements for the children to be cared for by close family members. Effie stayed with William and Thirza Tiller, Ethel was reared by Hurtle and Meta until she was ready for High School and then she stayed with Perce and Floss Cavanagh, Thirza with William and Mary Veitch, Harry with Patrick and Ellen Cavanagh, Hurlte with Richard Tiller and William with Stan Tiller.
Stafford played football for Port Lincoln before his marriage. After he married they went to Coonalpyn, "Carooma" was possibly the name of the house. The farmland was virgin scrub and had to be cleared. Effie recalls being told that the night she was born at the William Tiller house in Balaklava, it was very, very wet night and Archibald Tiller had to go out in this to get Dr Pellow to come to the house.
The family left Balaklava when Effie was about four years old, and went to Salisbury. They lived in the Farmers' Union two storey house just north of the Heinrich Flour Mill. Whilst there Stafford worked on the railway line to Long Plains. After reaching there, he gave the railways away and worked for George Ryan Petram as Drover-stockman and did general farm duties.
The House that the family lived in was between Port Wakefield and Martins Rd on Ryans Rd., a four bed roomed cottage. There was no bathroom and they had to wash outside. In winter, the old tin bath was taken inside and water was heated on the stove. Sometimes with high tides, the se water would run back into low-lying creeks but did not affect the well area. The well used for the house was about three yards from the back of the house. When William Tiller visited he would always ask for a billy of water to be drawn, as he considered it the best he had tasted. Jean and Ray Proctor farmed in the Yeelanna area after their marriage. The farm was share-farmed for a few years when Ray and Jean moved to Hilltown in the mid-North. The boys finished their education during this time, Geoff at Urbrae and Len at Clare High School. After selling Hilltown farm the family took up land around Tintinara in the South East. Don Went back to Yeelanna when he married and his sons still farm the original property. Jean and Ray retired to Tranmere in 1975 and took a keen interest in bowling with the Tranmere Club. Jean Rita Houston, the only child of Minnie Bottcher and Robert Houston, was born 5 March 1924 at 97 Denison Street, Newtown.
Jean Married Frank Miller on 10 February, 1945 at St Andrews Church of England, Sans Souci, New South Wales, Australia. They formed a new family with Max aged 6 and Verlie aged 3. They lived at 92 Ida Street Sans Souci.
Jean and Frank had three sons Robert in 1948, Wayne in 1957 and Bruce in 1964.
When Frank died on 22 July 1971, Jean was 47 years old and remained in the family home at 92 Ida Street Sans Souci, looking after her sons and her father Robert Houston.
