  John de Vere was 1st to introduced Shelf Companies to Australia under WMC Young & Cooke in Sydney. Soon after World War II he took over Young & Cooke in lieu of payment of wages owed to him by the former owners. Once he took control the business rapidly expanded, when in the late 1950s he very successfully introduced shelf companies. John sold the business in 1971/2 and became grazier / farm property developer. John was a popular man where ever he went. [1]
