Notes |
- Beryl Lorraine McCauley is the second child of Minnie (n. Bottcher) and James McCauley. She was born on the 14th February 1916 at Camperdown and wasn't Expected to live.
Her Fathers mother, Louise McCauley (nee Matthews) who was a midwife, looked after her in the first few weeks of her live. This was just after her father James McCauley signed up for active service in the AIF. James never saw his baby daughter as he died in France in 1918.
Beryl married Frank Richard Miller on 29 Jan 1938 at Sans Souci, she was 21 years old. Her Mother, Minnie made her wedding dress.
Their first child Maxwell was born in March 1939 - the year World War II commenced. Frank was employed as an electrical mechanic.
In January 1942 Fr4ank enlisted in the AIF at Sans Souci at the age of 26. In September 1942, Beryl gave birth to their second child, Verlie Lorraine.
As Frank was away with the Army, after the birth of their second child, Beryl and baby Verlie went to stay with her Auntie Rita Isaksen at 54 Carroll Street Kogarah. Maxwell went to stay with Frank's people at 74 Clareville Ave, Sandringham.
Beryl became ill and died on 27 October 1942. At this time Frank was stationed at Tamworth. Her Aunty, Rita Isaksen looked after the one month old baby Verlie until 1945.
