- Robert attended the Cavanaghville School at Watchman, before leaving to work on his father's farm.
After his marriage, Robert took up land on Section 122 in the Hundred of Stow (2 Kilometres north-west from his parents' home). Robert and Annie lived in a 'pug and pine' home, named "Hope Farm", with their children until 1926 when Robert helped quarry and cart the stone for a new home. They lived all their lives on this farm, with the exception of a short period spent in the town of Balaklava.
Robert and Annie were members of the Balaklava Church of Christ and were interested in many activities within the district, They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1952.
When Annie died Robert returned to Watchman to live with his son Gordon and family, who had taken over his father's property. Robert died in hospital just a few days after his daughter Thelma. He was buried with his wife, Annie. (The Tucker Family in Australia, 1992)
