    • Millie's birth details were obtained from South Australian Births 1842-1906 book 348, page 181 District code Cla.
      Marriage details obtained from South Australian Marriages, Registrations 1842 - 1916 book 244 page 363 district code Cla. Thomas was 28yrs old and Millie was 25yrs old when they were married.

      Millie lived as a child at "Willow Lodge", Warnertown. she attended Primary School at Warnertown and left school to work on the family farm to help her mother. She was only 7 when her father died. She was the youngest living child of ten children. She loved riding and training horses but apart from this was not involved in any sport. Her hobbies were painting and needlework. Millie and Tom only had one child, Murl who was born on April Fools' Day. When the doctor was called from Port Pirie, 12 miles away he said, "I hope you aren't fooling me."
      Millie worked for the Australian Red Cross Society voluntarily during World War II and afterwards, and was presented with a commemorative badge by the Governor at Government House in Adelaide to mark 20 years service.

      After Tom Died Millie continued to run the farm with the help of a manager until she retired to Port Pirie in 1964. (The Tucker Family in Australia, 1992)
